Surf Coast Shire
The Surf Coast Community and Civic Precinct saw the construction of a new civic council office and surrounding sports fields. A major driving force for the project was the council’s desire to reflect the local community’s environmental conscience.
To realise this intent, ADJ incorporated several energy efficient indicatives into the electrical installation. These included:
- Photovoltaic system
- Vertical axis wind turbine
- Lighting control with daylight harvesting
- Energy monitoring
- Interactive energy performance display system
- Weather monitoring
For the project, ADJ was awarded the 2012 NECA Excellence Award for Energy Efficiency and Environment. In addition, the project also received international acclaim at the 2012 KNX Awards held in Frankfurt where it was the recipient of the International Best Project Award.
