Deakin REACH

The Deakin REACH building was designed as a gateway building to the University’s Waurn Ponds campus. The project’s primary role is to help address the shortage of doctors and allied health professionals in country areas.

The building is 8,000 sqm set out over four levels, including basement. It comprises of an academic wing containing laboratories, teaching and research spaces. A second wing houses staff offices and common areas.

The two wings are separated by a 3-storey naturally lit atrium and a 200-seat glass encased lecture theatre that projects out from the building towards the adjacent lake and oval. The building has been designed to Deakin University’s high sustainability ideals.
